Perfect Juicy Grilled Pork Chops

I love a juicy grilled pork chop. 😋 They’re quick, easy and have so much flavor! Pork is also less expensive than beef, but can feel like a special dinner. These easy grilled pork chops would make a great main dish for hosting family and friends.

Grilled pork chops have not always been a go to for us. It can be really easy to overcook them. They become dry and tough when that happens. Luckily, we’ve got you covered!

After lots of research and some trial and error. We’ve got a foolproof, easy and fast way to grill delicious pork chops!

Let’s start with the chops. In the grocery store, you’ll typically find two different types of chops that make the best grilled pork chops – center cut loin chops and center cut rib chops. These are about an inch thick (they’ll cook quickly once on the grill).

Center cut loin pork chops are a great choice for grilled pork chops.

For the best grilled pork chops it’s important to bring the meat up to room temperature so that it cooks evenly. I typically pull my chops out of the fridge 30-45 minutes before I plan to grill.

Tonight I’m seasoning our pork chops with coarse ground pepper and kosher salt. No need to get complicated! But other types of seasoning that would be delicious could be lemon pepper, garlic powder or your favorite rib rub. Really the possibilities are endless. Just use your favorite flavors.

Whatever you use, check to see if it has salt. If it doesn’t, add some kosher salt. Salt is your friend, be responsible, but don’t be afraid to use salt.

I season my chops as soon as I take them out of the fridge to give the seasoning time to absorb into the meat while it comes to room temperature. Hold your hand 6-8 inches above your chops and sprinkle your seasoning like a helicopter to ensure you evenly distribute your seasoning.

Season generously with salt and pepper.

For the best grilled pork chops, we heat our gas grill to 400 degrees.

Prior to putting your chops on the grill lightly coat them in olive oil. This ads flavor and ensures they won’t get stuck.

Place your chops on the hot grill for 3-4 minutes on each side (resist the urge to move them when you first put them on the grill). If you want fancy grill marks turn your chops about a quarter of a circle.

We didn’t do fancy grill marks tonight. It’s just us. These grilled pork chops are just as delicious without fancy grill marks. Why add the extra step if you don’t have to.

We've flipped our pork chops on the grill.

Pork should be cooked to 145 degrees internally. It should be slightly pink in the middle.

It’s important to rest your meat for 5-10 minutes after you take it off the grill to allow the juices to redistribute. As hard as it is to smell those delicious grilled pork chops, don’t skip this step!

Make sure to rest your grilled pork chops for 5-10 minutes after you take them off the grill.

Juicy grilled pork chops are sooooo good! They cook quickly and are affordable, but feel special.

I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
